Puppy Info

Boston Terriers are friendly, people-oriented dogs that enjoy getting out of the house and going for a walk. They have vibrant personalities and are short, compact little dogs that weight 12-25 pounds and usually are 15-17 inches tall. Knowing if a Boston Terrier is right for you is important. If you would like to know more, a good place for information is the AKC - Boston Terrier

Getting a new puppy is exciting but can be a lot of work, and it’s important to be prepared and ready for the commitment. When people are interested in our pups, we like to know a little about them and what their home life is like. Placing our pups in a good home is important to us, and we want to be sure our puppies will be a good fit.

  • Care

Our newborn puppies receive attentive, around-the-clock care to ensure they have the best start in life. At birth, each puppy is carefully examined for health issues like cleft palates, and we track their weight regularly to ensure steady growth. In their first few weeks, we closely monitor their feeding habits and make sure they are always warm, safe, and thriving. By providing a calm, nurturing environment, we help them develop strong, healthy foundations.

  • Health

As they grow more active and playful, we set up a spacious 6x8 foot pen where they can run and interact with each other. With our open floor plan, the puppies are exposed to everyday household sights and sounds—like dishes clattering, vacuuming, the TV, and even the bustle of an energetic ten-year-old—helping them adjust to the hustle and bustle of family life. At six weeks, our puppies receive a thorough health check from our veterinarian and get their first vaccinations.

  • New Family

If the puppies are eating well and gaining weight, they are typically ready to go to their new homes at eight weeks. However, smaller puppies may need a bit more time to grow and prepare for the transition. When a puppy joins their new family, we provide a care package that includes some of their food, a blanket with their mother’s scent, AKC registration forms, a health record, pedigree certificate, and a copy of the contract and health guarantee.

  • We feed our adult dogs a variety of high-quality brands, including Taste of the Wild, Wildology, Nutrena, and Fromm. By rotating these brands throughout the year, we ensure they receive a wide range of nutrients. Our puppies are introduced to wet puppy food around four to five weeks of age, while continuing to nurse from their mother. As they become accustomed to solid food, we gradually introduce dry kibble. By the time they join their new families, they are fully transitioned to solid food.

In the care package sent home with each puppy, we include the current kibble brand they’ve been eating. Understanding that families may have their own kibble preferences, we also provide enough of the puppy's current food to help smoothly transition to a new brand, if desired.
